The National Bike Summit is the premier bike advocacy event of the year for bike advocates and professionals! 

WITH NEW LEADERSHIP IN THE OVAL OFFICE, we need your voice FOR BIKES on Capitol Hill!  Congress will be in session to hear your voice.

This INSPIRING event builds our movement for 2017 and beyond. Focus will be on regional planning, national and local messaging, and the road map of our work together in advancing the bicycling movement. Networking opportunities, keynote addresses from top government officials, workshops highlighting innovative advocacy ideas, and an organized Lobby Day to bring our pro-bicycling message to our elected officials on Capitol Hill - experience it all during our few days together!

This year’s event will be held March 6-9, 2017 at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown DC, located at 999 Ninth St. NW Washington, DC 20001.

PLENARY: Innovation and Trends in Transporation: A View from all Sectors

This mornings plenary will include leaders from the business, non-profit and Congress to discuss trends and innovations in their sector around transportation. 

  • Michele Whyle at 3M about their investment in  both BFB and the National Bike Challenge 
  • We'll have a Q&A with Rep. Earl Blumenauer. Not just his regular opening - but he'll take Q&A about what to expect in the new Congress, and with the new Administration
  • Jason Goldman of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America will talk about Automated Vehicles and other new technology and how it could effect our biking, and our communities.

Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) continues to be the leading bicycle advocate in Congress. He will not only address the Summit but take some time to answer questions regarding trends in transportation during the Trump Era.

Mr. Jason Goldman is the Vice President for External Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement for the Intelligent Transportation Society of America. He will talk to us about automated cars and other technologies and how they effect people who bike.
